week 21

i made us a cute scarf this week... i love it!

the day after Christmas we went shopping with teresa in S.B., it was so fun! then we met up with the boys {all 8 of them} at the beach. it was a wonderful day ended with a yummy dinner.

a few days later daddy wanted to go back to this beach, so we did, just our little family. i love California!!!!

daddy has started to feel you kick this week. this is such a bonding experience, i love you little one!

week 20

merry Christmas little one!

your brothers are living the movie a Christmas story right now so daddy has been taking them out back to get a little shooting practice in... they are in heaven!

i have gotten you a few things that i am crazy about, you are going to look so handsome!

i had a doctors appointment on Christmas eve for you little one. we found out one of your tests was negative... yippie! your due date is anywhere from may 2nd - may 9th. they want you to cook as long as you can. we talked to our doctor at this appointment about inducing you {he is not a fan} if you are not born by the 8th {i hope aunt becky can be there} because gma and gpa said they would drive out from ny if we did your brothers baptism and your blessing on the same weekend. i think its going to work out. so may 15th is going to be a busy day!

Christmas day we went over to our friends house for dinner. it was delicious and wonderful to spend the holidays with them.

week 19

a boy or a girl...

its a BOY! why change it up, we know we make cute boys right? it is funny the kind of responses we get... "oh i am so sorry" or "ha ha ha". when i just want to say are you serious? i am lucky i can get pregnant and i waited until i was ready for a baby not a girl.

we brought your brothers to this ultrasound. it was great for them to see you! we had a few scares at this ultrasound so we are getting more tests done and they are watching us closely. i am not on bed rest but lifting a laundry basket, groceries, etc. is too much. this is hard for me since i am a doer and hate waiting on people but i am learning.

we have known you were a little boy since week 14 but she was not 100% sure so we kept it a secret. daddy was in the car with your brothers and a friend so she wrote it on a piece of paper so daddy and i could open it together. we did not tell anyone because your second brother we were told was a girl early on and then told a boy so we had to go back and say just kidding. i like to be 100% sure and now we are!

btw, we think we have decided on a name. its a name i have loved for a long time... i am so excited!

week 18

there you are babes... that little bump... i love it!

your brother turned 4 this week. he is CRAZY about pirates. i had a fun time planning this party {it was a good way to keep my mind off of the stress} and pulled it off with the help of a few friends.

i have been feeling you kick which is so comforting!

week 17

we have so much to be thankful for and you are at the top of our list!

{daddy was keeping me smiling in the ER, he is good at that}

wow, where do i begin. i am behind on updating this blog and for a good reason. we have been running into some complications with this pregnancy. crazy how i had 3 EASY pregnancies and thought i would have another.

this weekend i starting cramping and bleeding a lot. our doctor told me to take it easy. i took it easy and it was getting worse. on sunday morning we entered the ER. the reason for all of this was unknown, the baby looked ok so they sent me home. monday it continued to get worse so we have been being watched very carefully little one. i see at least 1 doctor a week.

your littlest brother goes into surgery this week. the stress level in our house is a bit high so stay strong little one... we love you!

week 16

we had thanksgiving this week. it was just our cute little family. your daddy and i cooked for a small army, we are definitely beginners in the thanksgiving dinner department. sorry babes i personally do not like thanksgiving dinner, other then the rolls. you will have to find out for yourself when you are born if you like it.

i went shopping and got some amazing deals on toys for your brothers. i think they will be happy Christmas morning!

week 15

i know its blurry but... thats ok we are jumping for joy!

the beginning of this week was a rough one babes. i am grateful for a loving husband, you are one lucky kid to have him as a dad. he spoiled us with flowers, chocolates and even bought us some clothes {good bye waist line and you have nothing} to help cheer me up. i am also grateful for family and good friends. thanks for helping me this week, i needed you guys! pregnancy hormones are terrible, i know my husband agrees!

later in the week {saturday} we decided to take you up to big sur, a place i have never been. it is beautiful! i want to go back and spend a few days there hiking, etc. i think you would love it, your brothers did. we went with some good friends, the taylors, they are awesome and you are going to love them!!!

week 14

at your doctors appointment this week {daddy came} i let the nurse know i was having some sharp pains last week. she quickly said "well, do you want an ultrasound to see your baby." i love our nurse, she is so good to us. so we are 2 for 2, 2 doctor visits and 2 ultrasounds:)

you look perfect little one. you had your arms up near your head and you even waved at me a few times. i got to see all of your tiny bones in your hand... it was so cute!

i {daddy could not come, because it was early release and i had a play date scheduled with your oldest brother. so daddy took his lunch break and took the 4 boys to a park. this was the only time they could get us in to see you and i was not going to miss it!} was able to watch you for just over an hour.

i love you babes!!!!

week 13

congrats little one, we are in our second trimester!!!! that is a big celebration! i always had so much energy with our other pregnancies at this time, i am still waiting and hoping it kicks in soon. my bedtime used to be around 8pm, now with the time change it is closer to 7pm.

this week, we took you to a college soccer game. it was loads of fun, although it is taking me awhile to recover from such a late night... 10:30pm.

you had a baby boy cousin born this week. he is adorable and it made me so excited for us to go through this again... with you.

we also learned you will have a little girl cousin, she is due just 1 month before you.

your brothers all think you are a girl. at night they all say "good night baby girl". i have to remind them we do not know yet what you are and you could be a little boy but they say "no its a girl". have you told them something you are not telling me?

you have an appointment next week. i hope we get to see you again.

week 12

we took you on a gorgeous hike this week. you can read about it here. it was a hike we will have to do again little one, only next time when you are out so you can enjoy it more. your brothers had a blast!

it was also halloween this week. we celebrated with lots of candy and friends. you do not love chocolate as much as i do. we need to talk/work on that.

week 11

life is starting to get better, meaning i am starting to feel better. the mornings are better for me then the afternoon/evenings.

i went to V.S. this past week to get re-sized... HOLY COW! with our other pregnancies they grew slowly but with you, you made me jump 2 sizes in 2 months. oh but, that is only on one side. please distribute the wealth evenly babes!

your head makes up nearly half of your body size but don't worry they say your body will catch up in the next few weeks. don't hold your breath on that tho your daddy has a big head {it means he is really smart}.

this week was a fun one baby. daddy got a gift cert in the mail for a $100 dinner. a lady at daddy's work offered to watch your 3 brothers so daddy and i had a nice dinner out with just you. let me just say, you ate well! food has not been my friend this time around but i was not going to let a meal like this pass me by.

this week you are about one and one-quarter inches long and weigh in at .18 ounce. you are growing so much little one!

the meaning

many of you have asked what the name quarante semaines means. it means 40 weeks in french. hubby speaks french so it works. we set up this blog when we first found out we were pregnant but still keeping it a secret.

i need to say a big thank you for all of your wonderful comments, emails, phone calls and facebook messages. it seriously makes me feel so loved and i love re-reading what you wrote, so thank you. we have the best family and friends. this little one is so lucky to join such a loving group!

and we are going to find out. i am such a planner and if the baby is on time, my boys will be out of school just 2 weeks after the baby is born. what if the baby is late? i am thinking i will want to be ready. so 20 weeks puts us at december 20th. don't you think that is a good christmas gift???

week 9

today was YOUR big day baby. we had our first appointment. i made this appointment around daddy's work schedule and the boys school schedule. it was suppose to be a time for just you, daddy and i. but the night before your oldest brother was sick and throwing up. daddy stayed home with him so it was just the 2 of us at the appointment. i think this is a sign that you will always be fighting for our attention. at the appointment i was able to see you and your heartbeat. it was so exciting and made it a lot more real!

after your appointment we went and got daddy some balloons. we had to give him a surprise since he could not come. i then went and got your brother from school for him to take the balloons into daddy's office {dad was still at home with your oldest bro. he was going to see them after lunch.}. the ladies in daddy's office were very excited and thought this was his first time finding out about you, he he.

our secret is getting out, even more people are getting excited to meet you little one!

update: daddy said the last balloon standing is a pink one. i do not want to find out what you are until may 9th, daddy feels different. what should we do?

week 8

1 day short of week 9. the first part of this week was BAD! i was not sleeping and in a lot of pain. i called a good friend, a massage therapist and she treated us so well. i left feeling like a new mommy. i decided we need to do that more often. because i was feeling so much better we went and picked 14 bags of apples and made applesauce this week. we also had our friends the sowards come back down so i could teach tiff how to make it. they brought their boat so we had a little fun on that. btw, you loved wake surfing!

week 6 & 7

oh dear baby, these have been a few rough weeks. this is definitely a different pregnancy then our last 3. daddy jokes and says "welcome to the world of pregnancy because before you did not REALLY experience it." i have a lot more sympathy towards sick pregnant mothers now. i am also grateful that a few friends here know about you, they have been a big help with your brothers. it is sometimes really hard not to have family near.

here are just a few differences

* i new when i was prego because i wanted to throw up
* i am already showing
* i am sick
* my stomach hurts... a lot!
* i have not been able to work out
* smells!!! daddy says i can smell from here to texas.

it will be all worth it tho!

week 5

sorry, its a little out of focus.

we took you to hollister this weekend {labor day} to spend some time with friends {sowards}. you were a great traveling buddy!

we also found out that you will have a cousin born just before you. that is exciting! but shhh its still our little secret that we have you. just a little bit longer!

your momma and you ran 10 miles today. you are a trooper and did it so easy. i think you could have gone a few more.

week 4 {3 weeks & 6 days}

your daddy and i found out we are pregnant today! we are SO excited. we always thought we would have another but we waited and waited until the time was right to add another bundle of joy to our family. we have had our hands full these last few years, 3 boys in 3 1/2 years will do that. your brothers will be 8 (barely), almost 6 and 4 1/2 when you are born. all 3 boys are in school. i think the timing is perfect!

we are starting over with you little one. we have nothing... no car seat, crib, clothes. but thats ok because after 3 boys everything was pretty beat up.

your birthday is scheduled for may 9th 2010.
